I thought I would start a new thread for any questions that people may have for Syntax Olevia.

Post any questions here and I will do my best to get them answered.

This Olevia has cearainly generated some buzz. Currently syntax olevia is our 5th most popular search phrase.

Any way lets hope that these TV's will be as good as they appear to be.

I've checked out the specs, but they really do sound too good to be true!

Resolution: 1280x768
Contrast Ratio: 750:1
Response Time: 16ms

And even the 30" is under $2,000. Does the monitor live up to its specs?

I'm afraid I'm suspicious - are there any reviews?

But asides from the "is it good?" questions, here are some queries I have:

* Do all models have multi-standard tuners?
* Are the power supplies multi-voltage?
* Do all models have European SCART inputs, and do these support RGB video?

(As you can see, I plan to import one of these!)

Also - * do the component inputs support Progressive PAL video?

I would ask them about the flaky remote and the fact they don't have published IR codes for the LCD TV. Also why is there is descrepancy on the resolution (1280*768 vs. 1280*720) of the 27" model.

My 30" is going back...doesn't hold a candle to the 23" Dell. Takes forever to switch display modes, is grainy even with component video and a progressive scan dvd, and the remote works well enough but it's incredible counter intuitive (i.e. push right to "accept" a change instead of enter?)

There is a good review of the Syntax Olevia monitors at CNET, www.cnet.com. I can tell you they think it is junk. I was considering this monitor until I read this review, now I am looking at the Maxent 27".

I have posted the Syntax Olevia Press release. Check it out for some of the "official" propoganda.

We are still looking forward to reviewing this TV. We will let everyone know what we think of it, as soon as we get our eval unit.

below is a link to a recent review (just got one myself and have to agree that switching display modes (i.e. tv to vga etc...) is slow (are others significantly faster?) and the remote could def be better but for the price there's no real complaint with these issues).

looking forward to your review, hope it's soon.

extremetech and anandtech have both given good reviews.

while Cnet is kind of lukewarm.

not many hands on reviews from actual consumers.

Just ordered the 27" syntax.

Wanted a decent size tv to mount on the wall in my kitchen for occasional use.

The unit looks good, and for 1150 shipped to my door?

I think it will do the trick for now!

I will add quality comments once it arrives.
