he Samsung 650 series is my personal favorite. I think all the LCD tv's have a good picture. It's really a matter of degree of difference.
I like warmer colors, and so for me, the Samsung was a perfect fit. It seems the Experts agree with me. The Black color provides a good contrast and that makes the shadow detail and colors accurate.
The only negative is that the surface of the screen is glossy so you need to be careful about lighting placements in the tv room.
The HD picture on this set is very good (and I have only seen 1080i and 720p so far). Do not be fooled by the price. The SD DVD progressive scan picture (480p) is also quite good. Regular SD (480i) is pretty ho-hum. In fact, if you have a sizable tube and are not planning on upgrading to HD service (although major networks are free with an antenna and look great), you might as well hold off. This is the case for any HD LCD. They are designed for HD and all of them just look so-so with standard definition.

Sports seem to be dramitically improved on this TV as well. The people in the stands can be focused on individually. It's a surreal experience. Again, if feels like you are actually at the game.
